Ranger Rocket takes home journalism honors

Northwest Mississippi Community College’s student newspaper, “The Ranger Rocket,” took home several journalism awards in the Mississippi Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest, Student Division at the 10th annual O.C. McDavid Conference in Jackson on March 27. Full story


Lifelong learners can see award-winning Broadway musical

The opportunity to see a Tony award-winning Broadway musical does not come along often, but this spring audiences will have the chance to see “Fiddler on the Roof” with Chaim Topol, the star of the original motion picture in the leading role.

On Saturday, May 9, the Division of Continuing Education at Northwest Mississippi Community College, is offering a Lifelong Learners’ trip to see this beloved musical at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis. Full story

Workshop offers seniors information on majoring in business

Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Division of Continuing Education will offer “Let’s Talk Business for High School Seniors” on Saturday, March 28 from 10:30 a.m.- noon in the Tunica Building on the Senatobia campus. With today’s economy, everyone is looking for an easy way to supplement his or her income. A program recently put into place will give Calhoun and Lafayette County seniors graduating in 2009 an opportunity to apply for tuition- free assistance to attend Northwest Mississippi Community College. Full story


Southern novel focus of March Reading Roundtable
