Learning to re-upholster furniture could be the answer for a fresh look in the home this spring. The Division of Continuing Education at Northwest Mississippi Community College is offering Upholstery 101, Wednesdays, Jan. 14 - Feb. 11, 6-8 p.m. in the Art Building, Room 305 on the Senatobia campus.
Gloria Singleton, owner of Designs by Gloria and instructor for Hancock Fabrics, will teach the basics of upholstery: the skills, materials, tools and tricks of the trade. The first class will consist of discussing fabrics, tools and supplies needed for students’
projects. Students will be required to bring a small piece of furniture to work on and will learn to cut fabric, attach it to furniture, and attach trim.
The fee for the class is $125, plus the cost of fabric. For more information, contact Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Continuing Education at 562-3349 or e-mail pwlowder@northwestms.edu.
