Northwest announces its 2009 Drum Majors

Danielle Baker of Olive Branch (left) and Daniel Waller of Batesville will serve as Drum Major for the 2009 Northwest Mississippi Community College Ranger Marching Band. Baker is a freshman pre-radiology major and a graduate of DeSoto Central High School. She plays the trumpet. 

Waller is a sophomore business administration major and a graduate of South Panola High School. He is a member of the Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band, Pep Band, pit orchestra and Steel Band. 

Waller is president of the Student Government Association, Student Executive Council, Phi Theta Kapa, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Ranger Band. His honors include Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, President’s List and Hall of Fame. He plays the alto saxophone. Band directors are John Ungurait and John Mixon.
