WHEN TO APPLY
- Applications will open August 1, 2016 – September 15, 2016 for the Spring 2017 program.
- Applications will open January 1, 2017 – February 15, 2017 for the Fall 2017 program.
Information sessions are a great way for prospective students to learn more about our available programs as well as to find out more about the application process. You will have an opportunity to meet the Director, faculty and staff in an informal session and tour the Nursing Building and Simulation Center.
Three dates are available – Saturday, August 6, 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21 at 3.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. or Thursday, September 1 at 5.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m.

The Division of Nursing at Northwest offers an associate degree program that provides a foundation in general education and nursing. The Division of Nursing is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) located at 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326 (phone number 404-975-5000) (www.acenursing.org) and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, State of Mississippi located at 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211-6453 (phone number 601-432-6198, www.ihl.state.ms.us).
Graduates of the program are eligible to write the National Council for Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Graduates are prepared to provide nursing services in beginning staff-level positions and have potential for advancement on an individual basis. Upon acceptance, each student will be assigned a faculty adviser to help in making program of study and career decisions.

Starting For Fall 2016 — All students in the nursing program will receive their required nursing textbooks with a fee charged along with tuition. This will be at a discounted rate-cheaper than you can purchase at the bookstore or online and will include all access codes needed. Buying books on your own will not be an option-the fee will be charged based on the course you are taking. The only exception will be for repeaters that show proof of purchase of required books/access codes from the previous semester.
